QA and QC differences

What is the difference between QA, QC and Testing..?

Answer:

Quality Assurance: A set of plans and stir-abouts designed to make sure that the development and maintenance process complies to meet its requirements and its objectives. The process involves comparing the system/application with the standards, or required measurements.

Quality Control: is the industry standard efforts and actions planned and designed to gauge or reckon a completed/developed work product. It is a process in which each Unit goes through a phase of - grilled plans and activities to unmask bugs, errors and defects and involves reporting to management.

Testing: Is a process to bump off a system, with the purpose of finding bugs and defects.

The only difference is that QC is Product conformed and QA is Process bounded. Therefore testing is product related and hence its scope is within Quality Control division.

A rather well said quote would be - "Testing for quality isn't assuring quality, it is for controlling it".

Quality Assurance in other words makes sure that you are doing the right things, the right way. Where as Quality Control makes sure that the outcome of what you have developed/completed is what you anticipated.
